Reconciling Ministries Network mobilizes United Methodists of all sexual orientations and gender identities to transform our Church and world into the full expression of Christ’s inclusive love.
Reconciling Ministries Network envisions a renewed and vibrant Wesleyan movement that is biblically and theologically centered. As committed disciples of Jesus Christ, the Reconciling Ministries Network strives to transform the world by living out the Gospel’s teachings of grace, love, justice and inclusion for all of God’s children.
Living Faith United Methodist Church has always understood itself to be an inclusive community of faith, living into God’s love and care for all people. Responding to the heightened attention to gender identity and sexual orientation being experienced in the public arena in 2013, the congregation began a time of studying the theological and social issues surround sexual orientation and gender. After months of study, discussion, and prayerful discernment, on May 7, 2014 the members of Living Faith United Methodist Church adopted the following statement:
Living Faith United Methodist Church celebrates that all persons are created in God’s image and are of sacred worth. We are a faith community that welcomes persons without regard to age, race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, family configuration, religious background, economic status, or developmental and physical ability. Living Faith United Methodist Church welcomes the full inclusion of all people in the life and ministries of Living Faith United Methodist Church.
By adopting this statement of inclusivity, Living Faith United Methodist Church became a Reconciling Congregation within the United Methodist Church. As such, we look forward to partnering with all United Methodists who seek to belong to a community that models the all-inclusive love of Jesus Christ.
